Application examples of DC high voltage fuses
     
  1. Background

The spread of electronic equipment has accelerated the use of systems and equipment that rectify AC power supply by a capacitor input type, control the AC power supply phase and use an inverter respectively. This has increased the flow of distorted wave currents in AC power lines.
Currents at frequencies that are integer multiples of 50 and 60 Hz flow in transformers and capacitors, thereby accelerating damage to the equipment.
This results in failures within power distributing equipment, inability to obtain the rated output, wasted energy and further social problems. To cope with such issues, more power supply systems suppress a harmonic current and improve the power factor through an active filter and other means. The secondary stage of the active filter outputs a high DC voltage exceeding 360V DC. Daito's high DC voltage fuses (DCP and BDH fuses) are suitable for protection of such power supply systems.
