Advantages of radial type micro fuses

Comparison with glass-tube fuse

Compared with conventional glass-tube fuses, terminals of a square radial type micro fuse are not exposed after being mounted on a PCB, featuring electrical insulation on the surfaces of a PCB.
The mounting space can be reduced greatly, contributing to the effective utilization of PCBs.
When compared with glass-tube fuses 6.3 in diameter and 32 in length in particular, the projected area of a fuse is less than half. Because fuses are square, mounting spaces on PCBs can be effectively utilized. The square radial type micro fuses are therefore suitable for the protection of modularized power supplies and those of a space saving type.

  1.Comparison of projected area

The projected areas of BL, SBL and BX fuses of Daito are about 90% of glass-tube fuses 5 in diameter and 20 in length and about 46% of those 6.3 in diameter and 32 in length. Additionally, the terminals of fuses are not exposed after mounting on PCBs as mentioned above and square radial type fuses contribute to the effective utilization of PCBs (high-density mounting).
